HOW TO USE
READ THE CHAPTERS IN THE BIBLE FOR EACH SESSION
ANSWER THE QUESTIONS + REFLECT ON THE READING
This study encourages going at your own pace, allowing each session to be a day, a week, or however long you need. Each session contains questions to be used for individual reflection or small group discussion.
This study was made to be used alongside Bible reading. Although we have created chapter summaries, there is no substitute for reading God's Word.
SESSION ONE: EPHESIANS 1-3
THE RICHNESS OF GOD'S GRACE
Summarize Paul’s message in Ephesians 1:7-10. What does it mean to have the forgiveness of sins according to the riches of God's grace?
How does Ephesians describe the transformation that comes from being adopted into God’s family through Christ?
How does Ephesians 2:8 contrast with the beliefs of the Jewish people? Why would this be a new - or even offensive - way of thinking?
Paul described Jesus as the cornerstone in Ephesians 2:19-22. What does this mean? Use a Study Bible or internet search for help.
Why would Paul call himself “the least of all the believers” in Ephesians 3?
How had Paul been a good steward of the gospel despite his challenging circumstances?
In Ephesians 3:14-21, what are the key points in Paul’s prayer for the Ephesians?
SESSION TWO: EPHESIANS 4-6
RESPONDING TO THE GOSPEL
According to Ephesians 4:14, what are some sources of confusion or distraction for believers?
In Ephesians 4:18, Paul used the phrase “hardness of heart.” Can you think of anywhere else in the Bible where this phrase is used? What do you think it means?
Based on Ephesians 5:1-21, what does it mean to walk in love?
What instructions did Paul give to wives? What instruction did Paul give to husbands? Which do you think is a more difficult calling?
Have you ever seen these verses distorted or taken out of context?
What other instructions did Paul provide regarding mutual respect?
Based on Ephesians 6:11, why did God provide believers with the armor of God?
What is the sword of the Spirit (Ephesians 6:17).
Read Hebrews 4:12 and Revelation 1:16. How do these verses show Christ’s reliance on God’s Word?
Way to go! You finished the book of Ephesians.
