REVELATION 8

THE SEVENTH SEAL REVEALS THE SEVEN TRUMPETS

When the Lamb opens the seventh and final seal, a great silence fills heaven for half an hour. After the silence, seven angels stand before God, and each is given a trumpet. Another angel appears with a golden altar and incense. The fire from the incense is cast onto the earth, causing thunder, lightning, and an earthquake.

The first angel blows his trumpet, and hail, fire, and blood are thrown upon the earth. The second angel’s trumpet brings a great mountain of fire thrown into the sea, destroying ships and sea creatures. The third angel sounds his trumpet, causing a great star to fall from heaven. When the fourth angel blows his trumpet, the sun, moon, and stars are struck, bringing darkness upon the earth.

In the vision, John sees an eagle flying above him, crying, “Woe to those who dwell on the earth!”—warning them of the remaining three trumpets.
